About Us
DVC Officers’ Club was established in the year 2002 and was inaugurated by the then CE & Project Head Shri Basudev Chowdhury. Shri sandip_karmakar was the first secretary of the club upon whose able hands the reign of the club was handed over to. Since then due to the selfless dedication & commitment of all its members the officers’ club has been able to mold itself into its current form and has become a true example of a great success story.
MTPS Officers’ Club is a sprawling green space for Officers’ & their family members where they can relive & enjoy. It provides us the opportunity to explore our hidden talents. We do know we all are good at our respective workplaces but apart from that we all have some likes & dislikes viz. some of us may love football, some of us like Tendulkar too much, for some all they need is a TT or carom board, gymnasium may be a second home to some, others may be a voracious reader. So Officers’ club provides the opportunity to one and all, to follow whatever they like. At this juncture it is worth mentioning that the Officers’ stay at this odd location, partly due to their job obligation and partly to fulfil the growing demand of electricity in the entire nation. So YES we do our bit towards Nation building but what about our family, do they not deserve any credit for our professional success? The answer is YES they do, as our family members also stay with us selflessly to comfort and motivate us so that we never feel marooned in this small place. As they say, “The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing”. Family members too make the most of the vast opportunities the club provide. They enjoy the evening sun sitting in the wooden benches , children take singing & dancing lessons in the weekend, kids play pranks in the park and thus club becomes a lifeline for all its members.
With this we believe that our beloved Club always remains as beautiful & dignified as it is today and with each setting sun a new glory is attached to it, so that it remains ageless & immortal.
